  2. Force Majeure Event refers to any act, occurrence, omission, or incident outside our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

    1. strikes, lockouts, other forms of industrial action, or labour shortages resulting from domestic or international embargoes;

We will be granted an extension of time to fulfil our obligations accordingly. Gentle Canines will make reasonable efforts to resolve the situation or identify alternative solutions so that our contractual obligations may continue despite the Force Majeure Event.

10. Waiver
  1. If, at any time during the term of the Contract, Gentle Canines does not strictly enforce any of your obligations under the Contract or these Terms and Conditions, or does not exercise any rights or remedies available to us, this shall not be interpreted as a waiver of those rights or remedies. Your obligations under the Contract will remain in full effect.

  2. Any waiver of a particular breach or default shall not be considered a waiver of any future or subsequent breach.

  3. A waiver of any provision within these Terms and Conditions will only be valid if it is clearly stated as a waiver and communicated to you in writing.

11. Severability
  1. If any provision within these Terms and Conditions, or any part of a Contract, is found by a competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue to remain valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Entire Agreement
  1. These Terms and Conditions, together with any documents expressly referenced within them, constitute the complete agreement between both parties in relation to the subject matter of the Contract. They supersede all prior agreements, understandings, or arrangements, whether written or verbal.

  2. By entering into a Contract, both parties acknowledge that neither has relied on any representation, promise, or undertaking made by the other that is not expressly stated within these Terms and Conditions.

  3. Neither party shall have any claim arising from any inaccurate statement made prior to the Contract, whether spoken or written, unless such statement was made fraudulently. In such cases, the only available remedy shall be for breach of contract in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

13. Our Right to Amend these Terms and Conditions
  1. Gentle Canines reserves the right to update or revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

If changes are communicated to you before an Order Confirmation is issued, we may assume your acceptance of those changes unless you notify us otherwise within seven working days of receiving such notice.

14.   In the Event of Pet Abandonment
  1. In rare cases, we may encounter situations where pet owners fail to collect their pets or cease communication regarding payment. In such circumstances, the following terms will apply.

  2. If your pet is not collected by you or your authorised representative within 21 days after the scheduled departure date, or if payment remains outstanding for more than three months, the pet may be considered abandoned. In such cases, the pet may be removed or rehomed, and you waive any legal or statutory rights to contest such action or claim compensation.

  3. You acknowledge that pet abandonment may constitute a criminal or civil offence under Singapore law.

  4. You remain responsible for all outstanding fees and agree to cover any costs incurred by Gentle Canines in relation to legal action or enforcement arising from such circumstances.

15.   Governing Law and Jurisdiction
  1. Any contracts for services purchased through our website shall be governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from or relating to such contracts shall fall under the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Republic of Singapore.

16.   Health & Vaccination Requirements
  1. Owners must ensure that their dogs are in good health before arrival. Dogs showing signs of illness—including vomiting, diarrhoea, nasal discharge, coughing, open wounds, or skin conditions—will not be accepted for boarding or daycare.

  2. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that their pet’s vaccinations are current.

  3. Compulsory Core Vaccinations

  4. Dogs must be vaccinated against:

  5. DHLPP – Canine Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza.

  6. Recommended Vaccination: Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

  7. Kennel cough, also known as canine infectious tracheobronchitis, is a highly contagious respiratory disease. Owners are strongly encouraged to vaccinate their dogs against kennel cough at least two weeks before the start of boarding.

  8. Vaccinations or titre tests must have been completed within the past 12 months and no less than 14 days before boarding begins, as immunity may temporarily decrease immediately after vaccination and requires time to rebuild.

  9. Owners are required to confirm their dog’s vaccination status at the time of booking and must provide proof of vaccination (such as a vaccination card or titre test results) via WhatsApp before the scheduled check-in date.

  10. Failure to provide valid vaccination records in advance may result in refusal of entry.

  11. If a dog cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons, a veterinary letter must be provided. Gentle Canines will accept the dog under such circumstances but will not be held responsible for any viral illnesses contracted during or after the stay.

  12. Tick and Flea Prevention

  13. Certain diseases—including Lyme disease, Ehrlichia canis, Ehrlichia ewingi, Anaplasma phagocytophilum, and Anaplasma platys—can be transmitted through ticks. As a preventive measure, pets may receive a tick and flea treatment upon arrival (such as Frontline, Revolution, or a similar product). Owners acknowledge that this preventive measure reduces risk but does not guarantee complete protection.

  14. If your pet is already on a tick and flea prevention programme that requires administration during its stay, you must provide the medication along with clear dosage and administration instructions at check-in.

  15. Gentle Canines will not be held liable for any tick- or flea-related issues that may arise during or after your pet’s stay. Owners are responsible for ensuring that their pets arrive free from fleas, ticks, and other parasites

17.   Microchip and Dog Licensing
  1. All dogs admitted for boarding must be microchipped and licensed in accordance with the Animals and Birds (Dog Licensing and Control) Rules. Owners are responsible for ensuring that their pets are properly microchipped and licensed before the start of boarding.

18.   Feeding
  1. Owners are required to provide their dog’s food for the duration of the stay, whether raw, cooked, or kibble. Please ensure that sufficient food is packed for the entire boarding period, and it is recommended to include at least one additional day’s supply.

19.   Medical Matters, Emergencies, and Veterinary Care
  1. From time to time, boarding pets may develop minor issues such as superficial cuts, skin irritations, eye or ear infections, or small abrasions. These minor conditions can usually be managed on-site by our caretakers without veterinary intervention. In such cases, we will administer appropriate care and keep you informed.

  2. In the event of a medical emergency requiring immediate attention—such as collapse or suspected Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (commonly known as bloat)—your pet’s wellbeing will be our priority. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you. If we are unable to reach you promptly, we will arrange for your pet to receive veterinary treatment at the nearest available clinic. You authorise the attending veterinarian to provide any treatment deemed necessary under the circumstances. The veterinarian may discuss your pet’s condition and treatment options with Gentle Canines as required. All veterinary fees and transportation costs incurred on behalf of your pet will remain the owner’s responsibility.

20.   Emergency Contact
  1. You will be our primary point of contact. If we are unable to reach you, your nominated emergency contact will be authorised to make decisions on your behalf, including but not limited to medical care, welfare decisions, or collection of your pet. If neither you nor your emergency contact can be reached, Gentle Canines will act in the best interests of your pet based on the circumstances.

20.   Pricing and Payment
  1. The prices for our daycare and boarding services will be those displayed on our website at the time of booking, except in cases of obvious error.
